James Carl Cosgrave

October 1, 1924 — October 4, 2016

Mr. James Carl Cosgrave, 92, of Adamstown, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Pauline Fogle Cosgrave Born October 1, 1924 in Adamstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Annie (Dixon) Cosgrave.
He farmed the family farm with his late wife, his late brother Perry and his surviving sister-in-law, Elaine. After retiring from farming he was employed with Southern States Feed Store of Frederick, where he enjoyed the friendships of employees and customers until the age of 90. He worked many long hours in his garden and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor.
James is survived by his niece, Carolyn Kolb and husband Bernie, great-nephews, Pat Kolb and wife Angie and Tim Kolb and fiancee Donna, great-great-niece, Mary Kolb, great-great-nephews, Jasper Kolb, Patrick Kolb and Boone Kolb.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm, on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 10 a. m., on Friday, October 7, 2016, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Pastor Sandi Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
