Mrs. Annabelle May Delauter Hay, 87, of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Ridge Overlook Assisted Living, Westminster. She was the wife of the late Woodrow Wilson Hay, who died October 13, 1999. Born in Frederick County on September 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Roy Leslie , Sr., and Gladys Phelps Delauter.
Annabelle had worked for several years in the offices of K-Mart Stores in Westminster and Ellicott City. She was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, and had been a volunteer and teacher for the pre school at Epworth Chapel. She enjoyed bingo, yahtzee and bowling. She was an avid Orioles fan.
Surviving are her sons, Donald W. Hay and Janet, of Eldersburg and Robert E. Hay and Terri, of Hurlock, three sisters, Clara Crone, Delores Murphy and Nancy Baker, one brother, Richard Delauter, grandchildren, Emily Ann Carbaugh and Michael Joseph Hay, one great grandson, Zachary Tyler Carbaugh and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy L. Delauter, Jr., and sisters, Shirley Foreman and Marie Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821-A Green Valley Road, Monrovia. The Rev. Leo Barnes and Rev. Melissa Barnes, pastors of the church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Monrovia.
