Dolores Regina Mills

Dolores Mills passed away, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the age of 85.  She was born in Queens, New York in 1931, and is survived by her son Jim and wife Mary, and three loving grandchildren Zachary, Alison, & Ashley.  She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Alan C. Mills.

The second youngest in a large Italian family of 8 siblings, she grew up on Long Island, New York, graduating from Valley Stream Central High School. She worked as a dental hygienist and then for several years in retail, including at Hallmark stores in Hicksville, New York and Ellicott City. She loved the opera, baseball, and youth sports, serving as umpire in Chief of Baldwin Babe Ruth and Bethpage Little League. However, her greatest passion was her grandchildren where "Gram" attended many years of their concerts, games and graduations. She had a big heart and loved being a part of the communities where she lived. Caring deeply about others is what she modeled throughout her life.

Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dolores' name to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
