Jerry Wayne Castle, 70, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Ballenger Creek Center. Born in Frederick, Jerry was a son of the late James Robert and Virgie Irene Young Castle.
Jerry for many years worked at various restaurants in Frederick, having started at the Francis Scott Key Hotel, Watson's Restaurant, Perkins Restaurant and retired from Denny's Restaurant.
Jerry was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens and Washington Capitals. He was also a NASCAR fan, and especially when Jeff Gordon was racing. He enjoyed the many trips he took along with his sisters especially to Florida. In his living space he had an extensive library, consisting of Space, Astronomy, Science, Sports and several versions of the Bible. He had a gentle soul and was very patriotic. He had many American Flags in his room. He will be sadly missed by his cats, Angel, Willow and Zoe.
Jerry is survived by his two sisters whom he lived with for many years, Linda and Pamela, both of Frederick, also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kenneth Castle and sister, Nancy Louise Whetzel.
Linda and Pam would like to thank all those who took care of Jerry while he was at the nursing home.
Funeral services and interment will be private in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
