Mr. Murray Lamb, 94, of Frederick, formerly of Rockville, died peacefully in his bed on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Sunrise Assisted Living. Born October 22, 1922, in the Bronx, NY, he was a son the late Morris Lamb and Bella Faden-Lamb, and husband of the late Carol Kulich Lamb. He served in the Army Air Force as an airplane maintenance technician and instructor for the mobile training unit during WWII. After his honorable discharge he was employed by the Department of the Navy as a Journeyman Master Pipefitter at the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard, until his transfer in 1966, to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, where he worked as a test mechanic, and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid reader, and crossword puzzle maniac. Murray also enjoyed music, watching sports, and travelling to visit family for special occasions. His favorite weekly activity was playing pinochle, with friends, on Wednesday at the senior center. Being from a Jewish home, he especially loved celebrating Seder with his family. Murray is survived by his son Michael H. Lamb and wife V. Patricia Lamb of Frederick, MD; three grandchildren: Jason T. Lamb, Rachael M. Gillebaard, and Cara M. Radonich and husband Edgar Radonich; five great-granddaughters; his brother George Lamb and wife Bea Lamb, St. Louis, Mo; sister Mary Schwartz-Bolin and husband Sid Bolin, Kingston, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jerome I. Lamb, and a sister, Jean Zuchelli. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, October 30th at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, with Cantor Devorah E. Gartner, officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Solomon, Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will host a celebration of Murray’s life at the home of Mike & Patti, immediately following the burial.
