Beatrice E. Fawley

Mrs. Beatrice E. Woods Fawley, 89, of Rohrersville, MD, died November 3, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous fight with lung cancer. She was the loving wife of the late John Richard (Bud) Fawley, Jr., who preceded her in death on December 23, 1996.

Born in Brunswick, MD on March 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Edna Virginia Baker Woods.

Bea worked as a stay-at-home wife raising three children most of her life. She went to work at National Geographic Society in 1969 where she retired in 1989 with 20 years of service. Upon retirement, Bea worked part-time at the Jefferson and Brunswick post offices. Bea and Bud traveled to Alaska, Kentucky, Florida and Missouri. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters on various bus trips and with her family to Ocean City, MD and Texas.

Surviving her are three children: Pam Fawley Green and husband Bo of Rohrersville, MD, Ronnie Fawley and wife Kitty of Boonsboro, MD, and Terry Fawley and wife Teresa (Terri) Fawley of Jefferson, MD. In addition to her children, Bea will be missed by grandchildren, Renai Green Foltz, Zachary Green, Dean Fawley, Troy Fawley, Jennifer Fawley Dillow, Jonathan Fawley, Robin Fawley Bowers, Abby Fawley Riggleman and Emily Fawley Utterback, plus 19 great-grandchildren, Josie and Hunter Foltz, Amanda, Dalton, JR, Dylan Fawley, Gabrielle, Schuyler, Aiden and Lander Bowers, Lane Riggleman, Noah, Emmah, and Lilah Utterback, Shay Lee and Darien Keefer, Jacob, Cody and Wade Dillow. Also, she is survived by two sisters, Dora Hale and Virginia Lee Santmier and brother, James Woods.

Bea was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Oliver Woods and six sisters, Evelyn Rollison, Pearl Fry Morrison, Christine Stonesifer, Bertha Sigler, June Harlan and Geraldine Pearl.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9pm, on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, on Monday, November 7, 2016, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Pastors Edward Hartman and Brian Bowers will officiate. Interment will follow at the Reform Cemetery in Jefferson, MD.
