Mrs. Eloise A. Himes, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 94, surrounded by those she loved. She was the last survivor of 8 siblings. For 75 years, she was the wife of Mr. Guilford Himes who passed away in 2015. Born on January 13, 1922 in Yellow Springs, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Sadie E. (Summers) Twentey.Mrs. Himes graduated from Frederick High School in 1940. She worked in the North Frederick Elementary School cafeteria and also was representative for Beauty Counselor doing cosmetology demonstrations. She was active in her local homemaker's club in Monocacy Village. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing clothing for her family, cooking, ceramics, ink drawings and most recently painting with her granddaughter Lori while living at Homewood. Her art was displayed in the hallways at Homewood and won several ribbons at the 2016 Great Frederick Fair.Mrs. Himes was the loving and devoted mother of Patricia Ann Burns(Larry), Vicki Lynn Gadberry (Eric), Jeffrey Gil Himes (Anne); the grandmother of Scott Burns, Lori Wilhelm, Hannah and Andrew Himes; the great-grandmother of Ashlea Luecke, Michael, Alexa Wilhelm and Mason Wilhelm. Services are planned for Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1 PM in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 515 S. Market St., Frederick with her burial to follow. Rev. Harry C. Cole will officiate.
