H. Richard Lochner

Mr. Howard Richard "Dick" Lochner, of Frederick, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Delores Franzina "Fran" (Grove) Lochner for 63 years.

Born August 6, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Howard and Elva (Main) Lochner.

Dick graduated from Frederick High School in 1948 excelling in both football and track. He was a life member of the Mt. Pleasant Reformed United Church of Christ. Dick served in the US AirForce for four years during the Korean War. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Shepherd University. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and friends. Fran and Dick loved to go on cruises. Dick loved to gamble and playing horses at Charles Town, "he was lucky". Also, he enjoyed playing cards with his sister and family.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Lochner and Kirby Lochner and wife Margaret, grandchildren, Maria Lochner, Brandi Lochner and Joshua Lochner, great-granddaughter, Klaire Simpson, sister, June Lochner Tucker, numerous nieces and nephews. Dick will be remembered by his oldest friends, the Simons and Oden families.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be at 10:00AM, on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Pastor Guy S. Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
