Kathryn Long Fagan

June 7, 1921 — November 22, 2016

Mrs. Kathryn Long Fagan, age 95 of Frederick passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Ozzie Fagan who passed away in 2008.  Born on June 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Elsie Mae Long.

Mrs. Fagan was a longtime and faithful member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She served the church as a Sunday School teacher and was active in other local bible studies.  Mrs. Fagan was a graduate of Thiel College, Greenville, PA in the class of 1943 with a degree in education.  She continued her education at Western Maryland College earning her master's degree.  She began her career in September of 1944 teaching Math at Frederick High School.  She spent time at the Elm Street School, Thomas Johnson High School and Linganore High School and was most known for being a reading specialist.  In her free time she enjoyed playing bridge, reading, working in her garden, bird watching and in retirement traveling.

Mrs. Fagan is survived by her son Gary Fagan and wife Phyllis of Virginia and her daughter Joan Fagan and husband Bruce Ahrens of Frederick, her grandchildren Emily Reedy, Amanda Wilson, Lindsay Jobe, Andrew Ahrens, and Brent Ahrens and her 3 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 1 to 2 PM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 E. Church St., Frederick where a services will begin at 2 PM.  Rev.
