Ross Johnathan Micheals, 40, of Frederick, MD, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in Frederick. He was the husband of Meghan Blackford Micheals. Born on July 15, 1976, in Franklin Square, NY, he was the son of Catherine and John Micheals of Hicksville, NY. Ross, a native of Hicksville, earned a B.S. in computer engineering and completed a Masters and PhD in computer science at Lehigh University. He worked as a Supervisory Computer Scientist at NIST for thirteen years and was employed as Director of Informational Systems Solutions at Novavax for the past year. His greatest love and pride was his family; his greatest virtue was his generosity of heart. Ross was baptized as an adult at Frederick Presbyterian Church, a church he loved and served as Deacon. He was a handbell ringer for the church and Accelerando, the intermediate ensemble of the Westminster Ringers. Ross was a fountain pen aficionado and loved the art of writing. His view of the world was a unique perspective and was reflected in his sharp wit and mastery of words. He especially loved spending time with his children. His hobbies were coffee, bow ties, bourbon and cooking.Surviving, in addition to his loving wife, Meghan and parents, is his son, Zachary, 6, his daughter, Eliza, 8 months, and his brother Eric Micheals, of Monroe, NJ. Also surviving are his in-laws, the Rev. Christine and Nathan Blackford of York, PA.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Frederick Presbyterian Church, 115 W. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD, 21701.
