Robert M. Blatchley

June 3, 1934 — December 10, 2016

Mr. Robert M. "Bob" Blatchley, age 82, formerly of Baltimore, most recently of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his residence.  He was the husband for 54 years of Rose M. Blatchley.  Born on June 3, 1934 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Robert Holand, Jr. and Katherine E. Blatchley.

Mr. Blatchley served in the United States Coast Guard.  He was employed for 35 years by B&O Chessie System Railroad as an electrical Supervisor.  He was a past president of the Oriole Advocates, the Old Timers Baseball Association and the Towson Kiwanis.  He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, and enjoyed yard sales and flea markets.

Mr. Blatchley is the father of  Rose Lepera, Jo Bowersox and husband Mike, Donna Burrow and Bruce Blatchley; the grandfather of Katie Bowersox, Robert Bowersox and wife Aimee, and Alex Blatchley; and the great-grandfather of Lela, Jane and Carsen Bowersox.  He is additionally survived by his beloved sister-in-law Frances Brocato, 1 niece, and 2 nephews.

A memorial mass will be offered on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.  Father Keith Boisvert will officiate.  The interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Blatchley's name to St. Katharine Drexel Church to the above address or to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O.
