Thelma Lee Jones

Mrs. Thelma Lee Jones, 85, of Boonsboro and formerly of District Heights, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at her son's home. She was the wife of the late James Donald "Donnie" Jones, Sr. Born in Washington, DC on June 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Ida Mae Furr.
Thelma was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed country music and oldies, working in her yard, diamonds and having her Cadillac and Lincoln.  She was an avid artist, loved to eat chocolate, peanut butter crackers and Crunch n Munch. . She loved spending time with her family, especially Isabelle.
Surviving is her son, James D. Jones and wife Tammie, of Boonsboro, grandsons, Brandon M. Jones, Jaymes D. "JD" Jones and wife Joo, and great granddaughter, Isabelle G. Jones, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Rudolph.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2 p.m., at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Washington National Cemetery, Suitland.
