Patricia Ann Poole

Patricia Ann Poole (nee Thompson), 85, died Dec. 17, 2016, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Frederick to Greta and Roger Thompson, she graduated from Frederick High School and then worked for C&P Telephone Company until the mid-1960s.Pat was an accomplished homemaker, so talented in the kitchen that her large family and circle of friends looked forward to special events where her food was featured. She also was an excellent seamstress, with new babies always receiving a gift of a stuffed bunny or bear. In addition, Pat was involved in her daughters' many activities while they were young.A longtime member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday school for many years.Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, John (Ted) Poole; two daughters and their husbands: Joanne and Richard Baum of Walkersville, and Sharon and Philip Hannaby of Frederick; and three grandchildren: Katie and husband Robert Hanna, John Amori and Charles Hannaby.The family will receive friends on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home at 11 AM. Deacon Dr. Michael O'Donnell will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Poole's name to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701.
