Mrs. Mildred Norris Brashears, 95, of Adamstown, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at her home. She was the wife of the late Donald I. Brashears. Born on September 23, 1921, in Edmonston, she was a daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Helen Beall Norris. She was the last of 11 siblings.
She was a homemaker for most of her life and she was a fun loving person, who enjoyed her family. She was a long time member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church on Carrollton Manor.
Surviving are her children, Joseph Brashears, of Adamstown, Michael Brashears and wife Margaret, of TN, Ira Brashears, of FL, David Brashears and wife Vickie, of Frederick, Wallace Brashears and wife Loretta, of Hanover, PA, Dorothy Anderson, of New Freedom, PA, Francis "Fred" Brashears and wife Donna, of Adamstown, James Brashears, of Adamstown, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Brashears Painter, of Brunswick, 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Brashears, daughter, Anita Simmons and husband John, and son-in-law, Eric Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.,on Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at St. Joseph's Historic Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick. The Rev. Lawrence Frazier, will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be; Brian Brashears, Justin Brashears, Richard Mazzola, Richard Izer, Doug Frazier and Jonathan Anderson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, P. O. Box 33, Buckeystown, MD 21717.
