David Scott Doughty

Mr. David Scott Doughty, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Kline Hospice House. He grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was the son of the late Dr. Lallie and Elizabeth "Mickey" Harris Doughty.
Scott graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA, with degrees in Zoology and Biomedical Engineering. Early in his career, he worked for the Louisiana Tech University's Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Center. After that, he worked for 28 years at, and retired from, the U. S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity, at Fort Detrick, MD, as a Biomedical Engineer and Product Manager.
Scott is survived by one sister, Karen Doughty; two children Megan Doughty and Benjamin Doughty; and stepmother Nell Doughty. He is remembered by his aunts Myrtle Doughty and Eileen Harris; and by numerous cousins. He is also remembered by special friend Anna Poole.
Scott has requested that there be no funeral service, and interment will be held later in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Monrovia. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick, MD.
