Randall Douglas Astarb

Randall (Randy) Douglas Astarb, 55, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on December 27th 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born May 12th, 1961, in Takoma Park MD., son of Linda Plummer and the late Richard Astarb.
Randy was an engineer for 19 years with the US Park Service receiving many awards for his outstanding restoration projects on the C&O Canal.
In Randy’s spare time he enjoyed “tinkering” with his race car and spent many years at Summit Point Raceway where he watched his father race and later began racing himself.
Survivors include, his wife Angel, mother Linda Plummer, brother Nick Astarb and his wife Michele, his very special nephew Aiden Wade Astarb who thought of Randy as a 2nd daddy, his sister Chris Astarb and her wife Kari Kozar, his step-daughter Stevie “Poot” Carter and her wife Tonya, his daughter Shannon and his many friends within his work environment and from his Wheaton High School days.
The family would like to thank our extended family and friends for all the thoughts, prayers and heart felt wishes during Randy’s hospital stay and during this loss. A celebration of his life will be held on January 7th 2017 from 12noon to 2 p.m., at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
