Kevin S. Sheehan, 61, well-known chef and restaurateur, formerly of Frederick, died on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born in Washington, DC, April 5, 1955, he is the son of the late John B. and Pilar Emily Salavarria Brito Sheehan. He graduated from Wooten High School and served in the United States Navy. He was active in the Republican Party and collected political memorabilia for many years.
During his career as a chef Kevin Sheehan owned and operated many Frederick area restaurants. He was known for award winning cuisine at The Louisiana Purchase at Market and Church streets and later Jug Bridge which also offered the well-known Redskins Bus.
In recent years he alternated his time between Hollywood, Florida and in summer with family between Frederick and Kent Island.
He is survived by his daughter, Jordan M. Orrison ,husband Brian and grandson, Chase Edward Orrison, all of Stevensville; three sisters, Dawn M. Monaghan and husband Paul Monaghan, Linda Webb and husband Ted Webb, and Nina S. Sheehan; two nieces, two nephews and his fiancé, Hyea Yeoun Song.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 8 at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick, 21701.
Wake to follow immediately after services at Avery’s (formerly Jug Bridge) at 9009 Baltimore Road.
