Diana Jane Dunbar

Diana Jane (Mackley) Dunbar, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away on March 16, 2017 at her home, with her family by her side. She was the wife of 53 years to Frank Howard Dunbar Jr.

Born on September 29, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William Leroy and Elizabeth Rebecca (Storm) Mackley. Diana graduated from Frederick High School and married her husband Frank a few years later. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener with a “green thumb.” She enjoyed crafting and crocheting and especially reading.

In addition to her husband, Diana is survived by her two children, daughter, Debra Louise Dunbar and son, Frank Howard Dunbar III as well as his wife Christine Ebersole Dunbar; two brothers, James Calvin Mackley and William Irvin Mackley; her first cousin and “sister” Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Breeden and her four grandchildren, Katherine Elsie Dunbar, Nikolai Jano Feldman, Anders Dunbar Frey and Finnigan Becraft Frey.

A celebration of life will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. The Reverend Dr. Raymond Moreland will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
