Mr. Edward Joseph Wrzesinski Sr., 79, of Adamstown peacefully passed on March 30th, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Theresa M. Wrzesinski, his wife of 57 years.
Ed was born in Baltimore on August 9th, 1937 to the late Edward John Wrzesinski and Frances Wrzesinski. Ed worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration for his entire career, starting as an Inspector in 1958 and climbing the ladder to the Assistant District Engineer for Construction for District 3 at retirement in 1989. Ed also proudly served his country for eight years as a member of the Air National Guard and served on active duty for a year during the Berlin Crisis of 1961.
Ed was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus as part of the Archbishop Francis P Keough Council in Odenton, MD and served two terms as Grand Knight. He was also an avid outdoorsman for his entire life, particularly enjoying hunting and saltwater fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Edward Wrzesinski Jr. and wife Lisa of Frederick and grandchildren EJ Wrzesinski and Katherine Wrzesinski of Frederick. Sister, Susan Hedrick of Odenton, MD and Sister-In-Law Carol Cullison and husband Bill of Perry Hall, MD. Ed is also survived by numerous cousins in Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday, April 2nd at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM on Monday, April 3rd at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, Maryland. Father Keith Boisvert will celebrate.
