Ralph Hopkins

June 10, 1939 — May 21, 2017

Mr. Ralph Hopkins, age 77 of Frederick passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 after a courageous battle against lung cancer. He is preceded in death by his wife Mae Hopkins. Born on June 10, 1939 in Saltville, Virginia, he was the son of the late John W. and Audrey Lee Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins worked for NRL as a Satellite Wiring Technician, retiring after 34 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed camping, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a happy person who was loved by everyone who knew him.

Mr. Hopkins is survived by his brother Tom Hopkins and his wife Ruby, sister-in-law Linda Miller and husband James, sister-in-law Dolores Miss, sister-in-law Shirley McKeel and husband Charles, niece Robin Wivell and husband Kevin, nephew James Miller, III and his wife Denise, nephew Gary Hopkins and wife Ruth, Niece Amy Casinao, niece Kris Cramblitt and husband Lenny and many other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 3 PM. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Serving as pallbearers will be George Heffner, Kevin Wivell, John Bohn, Gary Hopkins, Mitch Althoff and Edward Rice.
