Catherine June Linton

Mrs. Catherine June Linton, 93, of Frederick and formerly of Crestwood Village, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lester Staley Linton, who died in 1999. Born in Baltimore on June 8, 1923, June was a daughter of the late Rufus Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Mooyer Summers.

For most of her life June was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and in the earlier years enjoyed golf.

Surviving is her son, Larry L. Linton and wife Anna Marie, of Frederick, grandchildren, Amy F. Brown and husband Richard "Buddy" Brown of Emmitsburg, Claudia E. Linton, of Frederick, and Owen S. Linton, of Philadelphia, PA, and great grandchildren Evan and Kade. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Summers and a sister, Gladys E. Smith.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Pastor Suzanne G. Jones will officiate. Interment will be private.
