Elizabeth Ricker

Elizabeth Ann Ricker “Betty” affectionately known to many as “Nanny”, 76, of Clinton, Maryland passed away on Sunday May 28,2017 at home with her beloved Granddaughter by her side.

Born on April 9th, 1941 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of Walter and Nelly (Byrd). She was the Mother to Debra A. Rutherford and Lynda M. Norris, and loving step mother to Cora L. Wyatt and Robert J. Griffith. Betty was the ultimate caregiver who opened her home to many people and animals. She loved spending time with her Step Daughter and Grandchildren laughing, shopping, and eating her favorite food Maryland Crabs.

She will be greatly missed by her Grandchildren James Gunther and Kara A. Norris whom she raised, Tara L. Binnall and Husband Erron, Brittany N. Norris, and Joseph B. Norris “Brennan.” As well as great grandsons Noah R. Binnall and Hayden C. Cawley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Lynda M. Norris, long time love George Griffith, and her three siblings Virginia “Ginny”, Francis “Frannie”, and Walter.

Her feisty and compassionate spirit will be missed by everyone who had a chance to know her.

Betty will be cremated and a private celebration of life dinner with family will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Prince George’s County Animal Service‘s Facility 3750 Brown Station Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
