Lily Sheppard Brewer

Mrs. Lily Virginia Sheppard Brewer, 85, of Point of Rocks, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro. She was the wife of Russell Brewer and the late Charles G. Sheppard, Sr., who died in 1976. Born in Frederick on January 11, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Carl C., Sr., and Lilly Linton May. She was a homemaker for most of her life, and active with special Olympics. She was an avid bowler, involved with many leagues at Terrace Lanes.
Surviving are her children, Kathy Carey, Charles G. Sheppard, Jr., Shawn Higgins and husband Michael, Ronald Sheppard and wife Kim and Laurie Sheppard, step children, Russell Brewer, Jr., Lynn Brewer and Gail Foster, one sister, Marie Nicholson and husband Earle, five grandchildren, Jennifer Hamrick and husband Timothy, Scott Murray and fiancee, Kara, Guy Sheppard, Dr. Whitney Sheppard and fiance, Michael and Jessica Sheppard, two step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death three sisters, Pauline Blank, Catherine Poole, Mary Klipp and brother, Carl C. May, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
