Ruth Shuey Risser

Mrs. Ruth Shuey Risser, 91, of Adamstown, MD and formerly of Palmrya, PA, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Buckinghams Choice, in Adamstown, MD
Born in Palmyra, on January 9, 1926, Ruth was the daughter of the late David and Ada Shuey.
She was the wife of the late Dr. John Vere Risser, DVM.
Ruth was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. She worked along side her husband in many capacities in his veterinary practices. She was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her children, John L. Risser and wife Deborah of Lancaster, PA, Robin Risser Mundey and husband, The Rev. Dr. Paul Mundey, of Frederick, MD and Sherry Risser Nelson and husband J. Eric of Altamonte Springs, FL, one sister, Marietta Loercher and husband Lars, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, four grandchildren, Dr. Peter Mundey and wife Katie, Ryan Risser, Sarah Mundey Dorsey and husband David and Todd Risser and wife Samantha, three great grandchildren, Adalyn, John and Mackenzie, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Kaus.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Buckingham’s Choice, 3200 Baker Circle, Adamstown, MD 21710. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at the Gravel Hill Cemetery, 54 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Resident’s Assistance Fund, of Buckingham’s Choice.
