Alvie Edward Toms

Alvie Edward Toms, 52, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly at his home. Born on June 28, 1965, in Silver Spring, Maryland, he was the son of Jeanette (Stearns) Toms and the late Allan Harold Toms.

Alvie was a graduate of Sherwood High School. He worked for Kraft Foods for many years before later going to work for R.F. Kline Paving, Frederick as a large equipment operator.
In addition to his mother, Alvie is survived by his brother, Kenneth Allan Toms; numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins; his girlfriend, Cathy Semmont; and his step-grandchildren, Zackary and Zoey, who lovingly called him “Pap”.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. The funeral service will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Reverend Edward Hartman will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
