Mrs. Margaret "Peg" Clary Arnold, 75, of Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at her home. She was the wife of Thomas W. Arnold. Born in Frederick County on May 17, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Jesse M., Sr., and Myrtle Wright Clary.
Peg had worked for over 42 years with USDA. First at ASCS in Frederick, from 1961 to 1986. She then transferred to Washington, DC, until her retirement in 2002.
She was a member of the Jefferson Reformed United Church of Christ and sang in the choir for many years, and also a member of the Jefferson Grange for over 60 years.
In her earlier years she enjoyed roller skating, playing softball and duckpin bowling.
Surviving in addition to her husband Tom, is one brother, Jesse M. Clary, Jr., and wife Becky, of Rohrersville, two aunts, Elaine Walters and Reba Wright, also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Trish Stine and nephew, Bryan Wiles, both of Middletown, several cousins, and great nieces and nephews, including Jacob and Cody Wiles. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Bidle and two brothers, George Clary and Robert Clary.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street Frederick. Friends may also call from 2 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Jefferson Reformed United Church of Christ, 3837 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD 21755. Pastor Chad Weddle, will officiate. Interment will be in the Jefferson Reformed Cemetery.
