Suzanne Klopp Fox

Mrs. Suzanne “Suzie” Klopp Gilbert Fox, 85 of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick. She was wife of nearly 60 years, to the late Thomas Melvin Fox, Sr., who passed away in June 26, 2015.  Mrs. Fox was born on October 23, 1931 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Walter Mairis Gilbert, and the former Margaret Leah Klopp, who died in 1952.
Following her graduation from John Harris High School, Harrisburg, PA, Suzie attended Hood College, where she met her future husband, and graduated in 1953 from The Reading Hospital School of Nursing in Reading, PA.  Suzie and Tom married in Hagerstown, MD on August 18, 1956, and lived in Baltimore, MD until moving to Frederick in 1968.  She was a public health nurse for State of Maryland, serving Frederick County (Maryland) for 25 years until her retirement in 1995.  She was involved with several charities, including Mission of Mercy, American Cancer Society and FMH Auxiliary. She was a long standing member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick.
Mrs. Fox was the matriarch of her immediate and extended family.  In addition, to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Gilbert, sister-in-law, Janet Gilbert, brother-in-law, Tom Williams, and daughter, Catherine Ann Fox.  She is survived by her son, Thomas M. Fox, Jr., and his wife, Claudine Lanoix of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and daughter, Margaret Rebecca Fox-Zeigler, and her husband, Mark Zeigler, of Kearneysville, West Virginia; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Nadeau (Randy), Steven Thomas Fox (Lindsey), Justin Nadeau, Austin Roy Fox, Kayla Jo Dauphin (Patrick), Eric Nadeau, (Katie).  Matt Nadeau, Michel Nadeau, Gracie Elizabeth Fox Zeigler and Jacob Christopher Fox Zeigler.; and two great-grandsons, Bennett Trottier, and Henry Owen Fox.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.  A memorial service will be held following the Visitation at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 4:00 PM. Rev. John R.
