Ellen Marguerite Hope

Ellen Marguerite (Rust) Hope, 96, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of 65 years to the late Forrest Kuhlmann Hope.

Born on August 16, 1921, in Lovettsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Kemper Clay and Irene (Hardy) Rust. Marguerite was a homemaker, devoting her life to her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda C. Mann and husband Bill of MD and Bonnie S. Eilertson and husband John of GA; one brother, Charles Rust of AZ; four grandchildren, Jaime L. Sloan and husband Drew of KY, Robert K. Eilertson and wife Deanna of GA, Melinda H. Dowdy and husband Nick of GA, and Melinda S. Gift and husband Toby of MD; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Gift, Adrianna Gift, Abigail Dowdy, Lauren Sloan, Austin Dowdy and Lindsey Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Howser and Marie Swank.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
