Horace Edward Ricketts

Horace Edward Ricketts, 98, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on October 20, 1918 in Flint Hill, MD, he was the son of the late Harley Melvin Ricketts and Zoe Irene Stull. Horace was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church. He worked on the family farm during his earlier years and also for Earl Nicholson on his farm in Urbana. Horace then went on to work at the Peter Pan Inn in Urbana as a kitchen aid.

Horace is the last of his immediate family, but is survived by his nephew, William K. Lenhart; two nieces, Dorothy Jean Lenhart and Susan Furst; and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11 am at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
