Betty Renn Thomas

Mrs. Betty Renn Thomas, 87, of Frederick, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Lee Thomas, who preceded her in death in 2016. They were married in 1950.

Born September 11, 1930 in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Meredith and Helen (Whitter) Renn. Betty graduated from Frederick High School class of 1947.

Betty is survived by her children, Joan Layton and husband Jim of Henrico, NC, Barbara Draper and husband Bob of Frederick and Lee Thomas of Frederick; grandchildren, John Jeffries, Laura Watts and husband Colby, Warren Jeffries and wife Susan, Linda Foster and husband Aaron, Katy Thomas, Leah Thomas and Amy Thomas; great-grandchildren, Jared Jeffries, Morgan Jeffries, Gavin Watts, Garrett Watts, Keller Foster and Kendall Foster; step great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Shultz and Dakota Shultz, sister-in-law, Doris Renn, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Renn and wife Darlene and William Renn.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm, on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, on Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Suzanne Morris will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
