Gladys V. Chick

Mrs. Gladys Verdee Chick, 96, of Frederick, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Northampton Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Elmer M. "Bud" Chick. Born in New Market on May 8, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Lucy Wright Phebus.
She was a homemaker and dairy farmers wife in the Tuscarora area. A member of the Forest Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her sister, Lois Frey of Mt Airy, and several nieces and nephews, including her nephew, William Frey. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Phebus and two sisters, Marjorie Green and Marie Baublitz,
Private interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home.
