Robert Ray Loun

Robert Ray (Bob) Loun, 80, of Frederick Maryland, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday afternoon December 4, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Catherine (Kitty) (Blair) Loun. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
He was born June 6, 1937 in Feagaville, MD of Frederick County, he was the son of the late Robert F. Loun and Catharine Ray Casey.
Bob graduated from Frederick High School in 1955 and continued to work at the local A&P Grocery Store before joining the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at Manzano Base, New Mexico.  After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned home to Frederick Maryland to join the Maryland State Police. He graduated from the academy at the Top of His Class on June 15, 1962 and married his wife Kitty, the very next day.   Bob went on to work for Sagner Clothing Manufacturing Company, M.J. Grove Lime Company, and Maryland Clay Products.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob was known for his love of hunting, fishing, golf, baseball,softball and other sports.  A member of the South Carolina Hackers golfing group, he also was a member of several local organizations including the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #684, Frederick (Past Exalted Ruler, 1976) & (Past District Deputy, Grand Exaltted Ruler), Sons of the American Legion Post 96(Brunswick), Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 (Brunswick) and Loyal Order of Moose.
In addition to his loving wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Shauna K. Loun of Frederick, his God-daughter, Kelly M. Carlson of Frederick, and two sons, Rob Loun of Frederick and Rick Loun of East Palatka, Florida.  He will also be remembered by special friends Sandy Carlson Lombard of Frederick, Dave, Joy and Emily Dawson of Jefferson and Tom Rodgers of Frederick.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his partner-in-crime, David Carlson, and his beloved dog Clancy.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The Elks lodge will conduct a memorial service Friday at 3:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Joy Rowe, will officiate. Interment will be private.
