Ralph W. Moxley, age 96, died peacefully Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Northhampton Nursing Home with his daughter at his side. He was the loving husband of the late Nettie Louise Moxley who passed away on December 5, 2007.
Born on September 16, 1921 in Howard County he was the son of the late Ernest Walter and Annie Elizabeth Cookerly Moxley. He was employed at Aunt Lucy's Country Hams. He was a well known dairy farmer for over 30 years near Libertytown. He also served a number of local offices as a custodian.
Mr. Moxley was a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy. He also attended the Maranatha Church of God and the Frederick Church of the Brethren both in Frederick. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Moxley is survived by his daughter Wanda Dennis of Thurmont, grandsons Darrell Lambright and Donna of Rocky Ridge, Jeff Lambright and wife Danette of Waynesboro, PA, Paul Dennis, Jr. and wife Amanda of Emmitsburg, great grand children Darrell Lambright, Jr., Jeffrey Lambright, Jr., Jacklyn Birely, Bryce Dennis and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Louise Lambright, his sisters Rhoda L. Stall & Annie Parepa Stoner, half sisters Vivian and Dorine Burdette, Brothers Fred Moxley, infant brother Ernest G. Moxley and half brothers Jesse, Anthony, and Alton Moxley.
Friends will be received on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10-11 am at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will begin at 11 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Tim Shatzer will officiate. The interment will follow in the Providence UMC Cemetery in Monrovia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick, MD 21701.
