Dorothy Roberson Piper

Dorothy Amanda Roberson Piper, 95, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the devoted wife of the late Jurgen George Piper for 69 years.
Born November 17, 1922, in Barnesville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vada Knill Roberson.
She worked for the Government Printing Office in Washington, DC, for over forty years and at the National Institute of Health until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church and volunteered for over twenty years with the Auxiliaries of Citizens and Montevue Nursing facilities.
She is survived by three nephews, James Kenneth Roberson (Sandi) of Delaware, Marshall (Robbie) Roberson of Rockville and Ronald Piper of Texas, three nieces, Ruth Ann Cassell (Vernon) of Braddock Heights, Betty Jane Hays (Ronald) of Middletown and Frances Stuart (William) of Frederick, stepson, Dr Jurgen F. Piper, step-grandson, Erick Piper (Tracey), step-granddaughter, Ingrid Piper-Nelson (Scott), step-great grandsons, Connor and Cormac Piper, all of Massachusetts. In addition to her family, she will be fondly remembered by her special friends, Faye Buckingham, William and Mary Ellen Burdette, Clyde and Patty Hedgepeth and Kenneth "Reds" and Joyce Miller.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marshall Roberson and Wilson Roberson, step-daughter-in-law, Lilah Piper and step-grandson, Kristian Piper.
The family will receive friends at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD on Tuesday, December 19, at 1:00 P.M. with the service celebrating Dorothy's life beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Eliezer Valentin-Castanon, Senior Pastor and Pastor Suzanne Jones,Associate Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
