Mr. Francis Delbert Lindsey, age 68 of Frederick passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his residence. He was the son of the late Delbert Eugene and Evelyn Ruth (Hricko) Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey attended St. John's Elementary School and then continued his education at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, graduating in the class of 1967. He first worked for Thomas English Muffin in Frederick and then later worked at Builders First Source in Point of Rocks, serving the company until his retirement in the late 2000's. In his free time he enjoyed shooting pool, participating in leagues regularly at Champion Billiards Sports Bar in Frederick. He also enjoyed golf and crossword puzzles. He was a life long member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Frederick. Lastly, upon his retirement, Francis helped his mother, driving her to her daily BINGO games at the American Legion, Elks, Banner School, Jewish Center and McDonalds. He use to always say that he was "driving Miss. Evelyn around"!
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his brother Paul Allen Lindsey and wife Mary of Shrewsbury, NJ, his niece Allison Lindsey of New York City, and his nephew Alex Lindsey of Baltimore, by his Aunt and Uncle, John & Marge Hricko, and Aunt Louise Airhardt and his late uncle Vince and many cousins.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date with a burial of his cremains in St. John's Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Mr. Lindsey's name to St. John's Cemetery, Inc., 112 E. 2nd St., Frederick, MD 21701.
