Bettie Lou Finfrock

January 23, 1942 — January 15, 2018

Mrs. Bettie Lou Finfrock, age 75 of Frederick, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Northampton Manor, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Finfrock, Sr., who passed away on February 11, 1989. Born on January 23, 1942 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Ernest I. and Evelyn B. (Hartley) Smith.

Mrs. Finfrock graduated from North Hagerstown High School in the class of 1959. She was a longtime active member at the Evangelical Lutheran Church serving in the Twin Spires Quilters club. She ministered to shut-ins by sending thousands of cards to church members. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, reading and making crafts. She served the Brownie and Girl Scouts for 20 years as a leader.

Mrs. Finfrock is survived by her children: Richard G. Finfrock, Jr. and wife Nancy, Karen M. Pierce, Diane L. Travis and husband Stephen, Charles D. Finfrock, Ernest L. Finfrock and wife Jamie; 8 grandchildren Lindsay Haas, Evelyn Janice Pierce, Jonas Pierce, Stephen "Doug" Travis, Renee Travis, Ernest L. Finfrock, Jr., Bridget Leavitt and Ethan Molyneaux and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister Barbara Lee Reeder.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2018, at 11 AM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 E. Church St., Frederick. Dr. Michael O'Donnell will officiate. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Finfrock's name to the National Lutheran Home Auxiliary, 9701 Veirs Dr., Rockville, MD 20850. The interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
