Elvin Otis Van Tassell

Mr. Elvin "Van" Otis Van Tassell, age 89 of Frederick, formerly of Baltimore, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Born on September 29, 1928 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Elvin & Louise Van Tassell.Mr. Van Tassell loved to travel and was very dedicated to his family. Mr. VanTassell was the husband of Jean Marilyn (Hoerichs) Van Tassell for nearly 65 years.  He was the loving father of Margaret J. Van Tassell  and William "Bill" Van Tassell, his wife Susan, and "Pop-Pop" to their children, Ann-Marie & Eric Van Tassell.A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1415 W. 7th St., Frederick, MD 21701.  The interment will be at a later date.  Contributions may be made in Mr. Van Tassell's name to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to the above address.  Arrangements by the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
