Mr. Paul Eugene “Buzz” Wagner, 86, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Charles Town, WV. He was the husband of the late Peggy Kolb Wagner. Born in Frederick on June 27, 1931 he was the son of the late Clarence and Nettie Simpson Wagner.
Buzz served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He later retired as a contract specialist for the government. He was an avid sports fan; played for the Ijamsville Baseball team and local fast pitch soft ball team. In his spare time he would enjoy golfing. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Francis Scott Key American Legion.
Surviving is his daughter Sandra L. Jones and husband Ernie of Charles Town, WV, grandson David R. Jones and wife Juliet of Romney, WV and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard “Tony” Wagner, Francis “Mutt” Wagner, Warren Wagner, Donald Wagner, Irvin Wagner, and sisters Myrtle Siedling, Mary Baker, and Louise Wagner.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the funeral home. Rev. Harold Jones, a cousin, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
