Catherine "Kay" Mcgoldrick

Catherine “Kay” McGoldrick (Age 82) of Walkersville, MD passed away on April 11, 2018. Born on August 20, 1935 in Dunmore, PA, Kay moved to Maryland in the early 1960’s and worked as a personnel administrator for the federal government during a 35+ year career. A Rockville resident during most of her time in Maryland, she had a strong interest in youth sports and served as President and long time volunteer for the Wheaton Boys and Girls Club. Kay had a great affinity for soccer and worked as a youth referee and later as a volunteer coordinator for DC United during the 1990’s and early 2000’s and the Washington Freedom during the first several years of its existence. Kay stayed active in soccer as a youth registrar into the 2010’s. She was preceded in death by Jim, her husband of 56 years, of Walkersville. She is survived by her son James and daughter-in-law Wendy of Woodsboro; sister Terry and her husband Jim of Silver Spring; sister Marie of Levittown, PA; niece Mary of Long Beach, CA; niece Barbara of Fairfax, VA; and her extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her ill tempered cockatiel, Johnny Ringo.
