Joan Crampton Remsberg

Joan C. Remsberg, 89, of Adamstown, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Born January 2, 1929 in Frederick to the late Keefer and Edna Crampton (nee Spurrier). She was the beloved wife to the late Robert Harold Remsberg.

Joan was a devoted and active lifelong member of Jefferson United Church of Christ. She took over the custodial duties at church after her mother passed away.

She took joy in raising her family and spending time with her church friends. She also went on annual trips to Hershey Park to ride “The Comet” roller coaster. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her son, Gary R. Remsberg (Jeannie), her daughter, Debbie Remsberg (James Berry), her siblings; Keefer Crampton Jr. (Shirley), Joe Crampton (Mary), and Rich Crampton (Eleanor), grandchildren; Raymond Brooks, Anthony Brooks (Pam), Jared Remsberg, Haley Remsberg, and Addie Remsberg, her great-grandchildren; Sean Carter, Avi Brooks, Reece Roell, Alayja Roell, Aria Roell, sister-in-laws Charlotte Crampton and Dorothy Ranneberger, and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Burger and her brother Jim Crampton. Also, in Joan’s family were Pauline A. Lapole and Richard Grove, both deceased, who were raised by Joan’s parents.

Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Sunday April 22, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm. A funeral service will take place at Jefferson United Church of Christ, 3837 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD 21755, on Monday April 23, 2018 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Jefferson Reformed Church Cemetery.
