Catherine Ceclia Sappington

Mrs. Catherine Ceclia Sappington, 106, of Frederick, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles Sappington. Born in Jefferson on April 1, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Daisy Mary Wood Weedon.
She was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Garden Club and Living Treasures.
Surviving is one sister, Agnes Smallwood, of Petersville, seven grandchildren, William Weedon, Cathy Jones, Joan Weedon, Veta Weedon, Anna Weedon, Wendy Whitten and Kim Weedon, many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son William Ralph Weedon and his wife Catherine Elaine Bell Weedon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at St. Johns Catholic Church, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens Frederick. Arrangements are with Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
