Donna Lorraine Stem

Donna “Ma” Lorraine Stem, 65, of Myersville, MD, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 14, 2018.  Born January 11, 1953 to the late Lorraine B. Stem Jr, and Geraldine W. Grubbs.

Donna was employed at the Airways Inn, Frederick, previously owned the Village House Restaurant, in Myersville, and Donna’s Diner in Boonsboro. She also worked at various restaurants throughout Frederick County.

Donna had a deep passion for her loved ones. She enjoyed bingo, the beach, and loved spending quality time with her granddaughters. She was also known for being a workaholic and for her home cooked meals. Donna had a heart of gold and a body of steel.

She is survived by her daughters; Beth H. Yankey, husband Brian, and Kimberly Benson, significant other Wayne Hopson, granddaughters; Amber Dorsey, husband Derrick, Ashley Benson, and Brianna King, husband Kyle, great-grandchildren; Aliyah, Jazmine, and Aniyah, siblings; John Beall, James Beall, Richard Stem, Brenda Curry, Bill Stem, Kathy Lawson, and Lou Ann Bowersox, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701.  The funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 603 Main Street, Myersville, MD 21773 at 11am on Thursday, July 19, 2018.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion church cemetery.
