Ruth Bernice Sewell

Mrs. Ruth Bernice Sewell, age 89, of Middletown passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.  She was the late wife of Mr. Walter G. Sewell who passed away in January of this year and Mr. Augustus P. Palm who passed away in 1982. Born on April 24, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Harry Winthrop and Grace King.

Mrs. Sewell greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family who she loved to provide for. She was a volunteer at Frederick Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She was also a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church where she worked for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Phillip King, Anthony King, Randy King and wife Ellie, Walter Sewell, Jr, and wife Rhonda, Donnie King, Andre Sewell, Larnell Sewell, Marsha Lyles, Sharon Holland and husband Joe, Chantre Sewell, and nephews Phillip and Joseph King. She will be missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Annette Brown, sister Janis Carlton, and her Aunt Elsie and Uncle Henry.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD, 21701. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered  at  St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street, Frederick, MD, 21701 at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
