Barbara Marie Vogel

October 3, 1923 — September 4, 2018

Barbara Marie Vogel, nee Sellner, a long-time resident of Jessup and later resident of Frederick, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Buckingham Choice. She was a graduate of Glen Burnie High School, where she met the love of her life, Edward J. Vogel, Sr. They were married and blessed to share 69 years of true love, respect and devotion to one another and to their children. She was a homemaker and mother of five children including her sons: Edward J. Vogel, Jr. and his wife, Claudia; Ronald H. Vogel and his wife, Maria; Richard G. Vogel and his wife, Teresa; her daughters, Patricia V. Buckley and her husband, John; and Barbara V. Madera. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Erich and Laurie Vogel, Evan Vogel, Hannah Vogel, Emma Madera, Ben Buckley, Abbie Vogel and Eddie Madera and two great grandchildren: Jenna Mae and Carly Ann Vogel.
Celebrating her funeral mass at St. Lawrence brings closure to this chapter in Barbara’s life as she was baptized, received her first communion, and was married within this church. Barbara’s faith was paramount to her as she professed it daily by constantly taking care of and thinking of others.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, 2815 Jessup Road, Jessup, MD 20794. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, beside the church.
