Leonard Allen Thomas, Jr.

August 15, 1949 — September 26, 2018

Leonard Allen "Lenny" Thomas, Jr., 69, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn L. Beavers Thomas. Born in Baltimore on August 15, 1949, he was a son of the late Leonard A., Sr., and Norma Federline Thomas.
Lenny proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. In his earlier years he worked in Baltimore with his uncle, who owned George F. Federline, HVAC Company. He retired in 2004 from PEPCO, where he was a Heavy Equipment operator and Fuel Tech. He loved fishing, playing golf and really enjoyed traveling with his wife on cruises.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Leonard A. Thomas III and his wife Christine and Amanda P. Fuller and husband Justin, all of Martinsburg, WV, two granddaughters, Emma Grace Thomas and Anara Rose Fuller, two brothers, Ronald W. Thomas and wife Suzanne, of Frederick, Gary R. Thomas, of Boonsboro, three sisters, Marcia Hatch and Nancy C. Thomas, both of Frederick and Marie E. Miller, of Waynesboro, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his special friend and brother-in-law, Mike Amoroso, of MI.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, A service will begin at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street, NW., Ste 700, Washington, DC 20005.
