James Chester Wiggins, “Jim”, 92, of Frederick passed October 1, 2018. Born December 18, 1925 in Sunkist, Oklahoma to the late Roy Alfred and Moulcy Wiggins (nee Donaldson). He was the beloved husband, of 41 years, to Sara Wiggins.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergent First Class. Jim was in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick for over 15 years. Jim was also a board member and volunteered many hours until his health slowed him down. He was most known for helping with the Charity Gift Wrap at the Francis Scott Key Mall during Christmas time.
Jim was a lifelong golfer who played at courses around the world. He was also a member at the Beaver Creek Country Club. He enjoyed traveling across the country with his wife in their R.V.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his daughters: Terri Durdock (Tom), Linda Stull (Bob), and Donna Thompson (Mark), his siblings: Trenton Wiggins (Wanda), Nita Anderson, Jean Farquhar, and Norene Toulous (Pete), he is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by: son David Smith, siblings; Thelma Deaton (Sid) and Laverne Stewart (Jack), brothers-in-law Pete Anderson and Warren Farquhar, and his first wife Marjorie Wiggins.
Family and Friends may gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Wednesday October 3, 2018 from 4 – 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 4, 2018 at 1pm. Interment follow at the Mount Olivet Mausoleum.
