Ernest Simon “Bub” Webb, Jr., 84, formerly of Frederick, passed on Friday September 28, 2018. Born April 17, 1934 in Rockville, Maryland to the late Ernest Simon and Amanda Jane (nee Willis) Webb Sr. He was the beloved husband to Ila “Faye” Webb.
He was a member of the United States Army from 1954 until 1957. While in the Army he served with the dignitary guard. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Bub was a carpenter well known for his ability to build houses and remodel homes. Some of his hobbies included fishing, antique cars, NASCAR, and most of all sports. He loved coaching little league baseball as well. He was known to always be aware of what was going on in his neighborhood and was considered the unofficial founder of the neighborhood watch.
In addition to his wife he is survived by, his children: Shirley E. Bostic (James), Sandra E. Webb, Dennis J. Webb (Fran), and Stanley D. Webb (Andrea), siblings; Cecil Webb , Velvie O’Neill, and Larry Webb, grandchildren; Jessica, Jennifer, Taylor, Amanda, Brandon, Autumn, Jeffery, Angel, Stephen, and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his sons; Jeffery and Anthony Webb, and his brother Claude Webb.
Family and friends may gather at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701 on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4 – 7pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm. Burial will be private at Quantico National Cemetery.
