Nancy Carmack Geiser-Gaver

Mrs. Nancy Carmack Geiser-Gaver, 88, of Frederick, died on Friday, October 5, 2018. Twice married she was the wife of the late Norman S. “Jack” Geiser and the late Jack Lamar Gaver.

Born in Frederick on June 12, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Wilson Taylor and Pauline Carmack, of Harmony Grove.

After graduation from Frederick High School, she went to work for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co for several years until she remained at home for 13 years to raise her 3 sons. She again entered the work force at Fredericktown Bank, serving as switchboard operator, bookkeeper and then a teller at West Patrick Street branch. Leaving the bank in 1969, she opened and operated the Spinning Wheel Neddlework and Antique Shop in New Market. After closing her shop, she joined the IBM Federal Systems Div ision, where she worked in personnel until her own retirement.

Nancy is survived by one son, Larry Wayne Geiser and wife Karen, of Middletown; two daughter-in-law’s, Linda Geiser, of Frederick and Donna Allison, of Bishopville; three grandchildren, Jayson S. Geiser and Amanda, of Germantown, Courtney L. McCarty and Natalie, of California, Zachary T. Geiser, of Middletown and one great-grandchild, Spencer Jay Geiser, of Germantown; one sister, Jane L. Smith and husband, Charles of Jefferson; a niece, Sandra Critel; three nephews, Dwight W. Smith, Kevin Smith and Wayne S. Smith, all of Jefferson.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jay Norman “Doc” Geiser and Dean Taylor Geiser and a brother, Wilson T. Carmack, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of memorial services at 1pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum, 515 South Market Street, Frederick. Private interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Jay “Doc” Geiser Scholarship Fund c/o The Community Foundation of Frederick Co, Inc, 312 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701 or to the American Cancer Society.
