Melissa Dawn Swain

Melissa “Missy” Dawn Swain, age 50, passed away on October 13, 2018 at Kline Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of Mark Swain. She was born on February 17, 1968 in Frederick to Sally Ann (Crummitt) & Charles Edward Baker.

Missy’s greatest joy was being a Mother to her two daughters. She loved to travel with them to Ocean City, MD and most recently to Europe. She played an active role at Walkersville High school where both of her daughters attended. She took on the role of Mother Coordinator, which allowed her to also have a close bond with many of the students. Missy also enjoyed needlework, such as cross stitch, where she would give gifts she made to family.  Missy always rooted for her favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to her Husband and Parents she is survived by her daughters, Kayla & Jennifer Swain, and brother, James “Jim” Baker.

The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
