Margaret Johanna Vanderveldt

April 11, 1927 — October 12, 2018

Mrs. Margaret Johanna (Duncker) Vanderveldt, 91, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at her home with family by her side.  She was the cherished wife of over 67 years to James Vanderveldt.  Affectionately known as Oma, she enjoyed spending time with family, travel, swimming and knitting.

Born April 11, 1927, in the Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Pieter and Cornelia (Belt) Duncker.  She married and lived in Indonesia for two years before eventually immigrating to the United States in 1956.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Joanne Louketis (husband Linus), Peggy Pinckney (husband James, who passed in 2012), Barbara Milner (husband Robert) and James Vanderveldt (wife Clarisa), grandchildren, Amirah Louketis, Robert Milner, Matthew Milner, Dr. Ariana Vanderveldt (husband Dr. John Morton), Renae Vanderveldt, Elena Vanderveldt and James Vanderveldt.  She is also survived by siblings in the Netherlands, Johanna Duncker (sister), Mary Duncker (sister), Pieter Duncker (brother), Paul Duncker (brother) as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10AM to 11AM, on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9190 Church Street, Libertytown, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at the church. Father Chuck Wible will officiate.  Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of Frederick County or the American Cancer Society.
